Bryan Singer talks about Superman Returns
For the last couple years the buzz word around Hollywood has been “remake”. We’ve seen remakes in the past, but not as many as we’ve seen in the last few years. There was The Dukes of Hazzard, Bewitched, Batman Begins, War of the Worlds, King Kong, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and the list continues. Some of you may argue that some are a different take on the original so shouldn’t be considered a remake, but instead a sequel. Whatever in the hell you want to call it, it’s been done before, they’re doing it again. I say potato, you know the rest.
Getting back to the subject. I was just reading an interview of Bryan Singer on Wired.com about Superman Returns. The part that interested me the most was the discussion on the 3-D Imax cuts of the movie. I first heard about this in a trailer I saw at the theatre saying there would be a portion of the movie in 3-D footage. I thought, great, I’m not gonna miss that. But after reading the Wired article. I thought it was pretty cool that it’s not just any 20 minutes of 3-D footage. It’s 3-D footage only when Clark takes off his glasses and turns into Superman. Now that’s unique. Just for that, I give him an extra thumbsup. This was and is even more now, one of the movies I’m looking forward to this year.

Uhm, Batman Begins wasn’t a remake, it was WB starting the franchise over from scratch and doing it (almost) right, for once :P

Well it was the 5th Batman movie to be made within the last 20 years. Perhaps it wasn’t a remake, but it certainly wasn’t something that’s brand spanking new :P
