LEGOLAND® Woo Hoo!!!

You’d think that I would have been to LEGOLAND® by now since I love LEGO® so much. Nope. Not once. I live about 70 miles away from LEGOLAND®. Not that far away by L.A. standards.
Well, this is now in the past. I finally had a chance to visit LEGOLAND® this past holiday weekend with my wife and boy do I regret not going sooner.
Although the park is built for kids. It’s got plenty of things for the kid at heart. The rides are great for kids, not that scary, or nauseating and plenty of wet rides to keep cool. But my interest was more in the custom creations and there were plenty of those.
The first part of the park we visited was Miniland USA. They have different themed sections with historical landmarks all built from LEGO®. They had a section for Washington D.C., New York, San Francisco, Kennedy Space Center and other places. They even had a section for Ferndale, California. Most of you don’t know where that is, but to me that’s part of home. I grew up in Eureka, California which is about 20 miles North of Ferndale. Very small town with some of the most historic buildings in California. In fact, some large movies have been filmed there as well like “The Majestic” and “Outbreak.”
Ok, getting back to the topic. These buildings were so amazing! Some weren’t any bigger than a small end table, other’s were enormous! I’m talking huge skyscrapers that were about 7′ to 8′ tall and about 2′ to 3′ wide! They even had a mini version of The Statue of Liberty perched on her pedestal. Here are just a few of the many pictures I took.
After walking around Miniland USA my wife and I continued through the park. we came to my favorite part, the LEGO® Clubhouse Store. This place has the biggest collection of pick-a-bricks that I’ve seen yet. It was great.
We left the park with just one souvenir. It was a LEGO® Merlin Wizard built by a LEGO® Master Builder.
